{"id":1501,"date":"2014-05-07T09:35:23","date_gmt":"2014-05-07T14:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/wp\/?p=1501"},"modified":"2014-05-07T09:35:23","modified_gmt":"2014-05-07T14:35:23","slug":"proverbs-chapter-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/?p=1501","title":{"rendered":"Proverbs Chapter 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we are starting in the Book of Proverbs: on this Wednesday, May 7<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 There are too many nuggets of wisdom to speak on all of them, so I will pick one or two out of each chapter.\u00a0 Because of the nature of Proverbs please share how God\u2019s Word has spoken to you each day.\u00a0 Proverbs is a great book to meditate on to allow each truth to challenge your thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs starts by helping us understand the foundation to learning truth.\u00a0 For us to increase in knowledge and wisdom we must start with a healthy fear of God.\u00a0 This reverential fear causes us to understand God as our creator, and sustainer of life.\u00a0 God is the creator of all things, so He has full wisdom of how all things work.\u00a0\u00a0 God has spoken and has given us the Word of God.\u00a0 We should always be open to increasing in the truth of God, never stop learning and growing in him.<\/p>\n<p>There is a battle is for truth, real truth and the world wants to entice us off the ways of God.\u00a0 The knowledge and wisdom of this world pulls us away from the mind of God.\u00a0 Notice I did not say truth.\u00a0 All truth is God\u2019s truth, how it is perceived and interpreted becomes ones knowledge and wisdom.\u00a0 All core truth in its own context will be truth for all.\u00a0 Anyone who finds a dinosaur bone has found a dinosaur bone and that is the truth of the matter.\u00a0 When the process of information concerning who, what, where, when and how it got there may cause us to stray from foundational truth.\u00a0 2 Timothy 3:7 talking about the last days before Christ return tells us this; \u201cEver learning, and never able to come to the\u00a0knowledge\u00a0of the truth.\u201d\u00a0 Taking in information without understanding will not build a life of truth; truth is only found in God.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 32 all those who listen to \u201cme\u201d will dwell safely.\u00a0 The wisdom and knowledge based on God\u2019s truth calls out to us to follow Him, and in the truths of God is safety.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"excerpt","protected":false},"author":1167,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"episode_type":"","audio_file":"","cover_image":"","cover_image_id":"","duration":"","filesize":"","date_recorded":"","explicit":"","block":"","itunes_episode_number":"","itunes_title":"","itunes_season_number":"","itunes_episode_type":"","filesize_raw":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1501","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-bible-reading"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_likes_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1501","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1167"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1501"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1501\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1502,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1501\/revisions\/1502"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1501"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1501"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1501"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
