Proverbs 17:3 \u201cthe Lord trieth the hearts\u201d -God wants to test our hearts so that they will be stronger and to make us pure.\u00a0 Gold is placed into the furnace not to burn it up or to destroy its value but to increase the purity and value of the gold.\u00a0\u00a0 God tests our hearts to reveal impurities so they can be removed leaving a heart more holy and of better use for His business.\u00a0 This year\u2019s track team at NHHS moved up in the ranking taking first in some events at State.\u00a0 This only happened because more than a few set personal best times.\u00a0 They \u201ctried\u201d themselves and pushed their training and discipline to excel.\u00a0 God wants us to do this in our spiritual walk with Him as well.\u00a0 Some things must go and in some ways I must be pushed in the power of God\u2019s Spirit to be better than yesterday in hopes to walk closer with God today.<\/p>\n
God wants to purify our hearts so we can have a \u201cmerry heart\u201d that helps us physically as well as mentally.\u00a0 God wants to remove deceit talked about in verse 20.
