Paul\u2019s concern was for the people of Thessalonica to be established.\u00a0 The word means to be set resolutely in a certain direction.\u00a0 Paul wanted their faith to be strengthened so they were prepared for tribulation.\u00a0 To accept that God loves me without doctrinal principles as pillars to hold up this truth will fail when difficult days arise, and Paul told them these days are coming.\u00a0 Paul therefore sent Timothy to build them up in the faith.\u00a0 To believe and never grow, or to go and live a \u201cnormal life\u201d, is not the plan of God.\u00a0 God calls us to live an extraordinary life in the power of His Spirit for the glory and honor of Him.\u00a0 Anyone who feels God just called them to salvation and not unto good works is missing the purpose of redemption in Christ.\u00a0 Once we are \u201cborn again\u201d, we become not like the lost, \u201cthe normal people\u201d, we become a child of God called to be His workmanship.\u00a0 You\u2019re a new creation of God, let Him live through you.\u00a0 In verse 10 Paul said he did not want their faith to be lacking, and he finishes the chapter by praying for their hearts to be established.<\/p>\n
