Today we are reading chapter 12 and I want us to focus on verse 24, \u201cDo ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?\u201d\u00a0 Jesus, here, is answering the Sadducees, one of the religious groups in Jesus\u2019 day.\u00a0 The Sadducees did not believe in a resurrection so they proposed this question to Jesus concerning marriage in the resurrection.\u00a0 Verse 24 is part of the answer Jesus gives them.\u00a0 There are two points, first Jesus said they did not know the Scriptures.\u00a0 This is why it is important that we know what the Word of God says and that we compare scripture with scripture.\u00a0 We mess up when we grab a verse not in context and strive to make that verse cancel out other truths.\u00a0 All of God\u2019s Word fits together and works in our lives when it is acted upon in its totality.\u00a0 So first don\u2019t be a verse grabber.\u00a0 Today you can do what Jesus says by reading God\u2019s Holy Word and acting on it.<\/p>\n
Secondly, we must believe, know and understand the power of God.\u00a0 Salvation takes the power of God.\u00a0 The power of the Holy Spirit must convict and then transform us.\u00a0 Do you believe that the power of God can work in your life today?\u00a0 By God\u2019s power your Red Seas can be parted so that you find a way to escape your problems and difficult situations.\u00a0 By God\u2019s power you can find healing and strength.
