Galatians 6

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 6. 1 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.  Although more mature believers have an obligation to help out those who are caught up in sin, the more mature believer still needs to watch that he or she does not stumble in temptation along the way.  6 Let…

Galatians 5

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 5. 1 For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.  2 Look: I, Paul, say to you that if you accept circumcision, Christ will be of no advantage to you. 3 I testify again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is obligated to keep the whole law. 4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.  It is impossible to take hold of the Law and receive grace through Christ. The Law will…

Galatians 4

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 4. 1 I mean that the heir, as long as he is a child, is no different from a slave, though he is the owner of everything, 2 but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by his father. 3 In the same way we also, when we were children, were enslaved to the elementary principles of the world. 4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son,…

Galatians 3

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 3. 1 O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified. 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? 4 Did you suffer so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? 5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith— 6 just as Abraham “believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”?  7 Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing…

Galatians 2

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is Galatians 2. 1 Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus along with me. 2 I went up because of a revelation and set before them (though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain. 3 But even Titus, who was with me, was not forced to be circumcised, though he was a Greek. 4 Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery— 5 to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might…

Update for Sunday, July 26

Updates
Hello Church Family, I hope you all have had a blessed week. I want to provide you with an update about worship services this Sunday, July 26. As we made you aware already, we had an exposure of Covid-19 among a few church members on July 15 in the Family Life Center. We have tried to contact everyone who might have been exposed. To date, no one is exhibiting any symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are moving worship online for one Sunday. Here's what it will look like: Option 1: Facebook Live Service @ 8:00am -- Go to the church Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Mbcnewhaven  Option 2: YouTube Service @10:40am -- Go to the church Youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/mbcnewhaven or the church website http://mbcnewhaven.com/wp/?post_type=podcast to view.  We will have no Sunday evening service on July 26. Assuming we have no unforeseen issues…

COVID-19 Update

Updates
Hello Church Family,I need to make you all aware of a possible Covid-19 exposure in the church. The person who tested positive was only at the church one time last Wednesday, July 15, 2020. The person was only in the Family Life Center around the youth. Pastor Nathan will be communicating in more detail with youth parents.Since Pastor Nathan and I both had contact with this individual, we have both been tested earlier today. While we await results, we need to take precautions. Therefore, all church activities are canceled for today (Wednesday, July 22). The church facility is being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. I will keep the church family updated about what we will do for Sunday. Much of this depends on test results and when they come back. Please be in prayer for those…

2 Corinthians 9

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 9. 1 Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the ministry for the saints, 2 for I know your readiness, of which I boast about you to the people of Macedonia, saying that Achaia has been ready since last year. And your zeal has stirred up most of them. 3 But I am sending the brothers so that our boasting about you may not prove empty in this matter, so that you may be ready, as I said you would be. 4 Otherwise, if some Macedonians come with me and find that you are not ready, we would be humiliated—to say nothing of you—for being so confident. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to go on ahead to you and arrange in…

2 Corinthians 8

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 8. 1 We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, 2 for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 3 For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, 4 begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— 5 and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us. 6 Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace. 7 But as you excel in…

2 Corinthians 7

Bible Reading
Good Morning MBC. Our Scripture reading today is 2 Corinthians 7. 1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.  The promise of adoption at the end of chapter six ought to be sufficient to compel us to pursue holiness in our lives. 2 Make room in your hearts for us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have taken advantage of no one. 3 I do not say this to condemn you, for I said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together. 4 I am acting with great boldness toward you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I…
