Today we are looking at Jesus calling His disciples in Matthew 4:18-22; Mark 1:16-20 and Luke 5:1-11.<\/p>\n
Here we see Jesus Christ calling His Apostles. Are you amazed that God calls you to follow Him?\u00a0 Peter was, in Luke 11:8 \u201cDepart from me for I am a sinful man, O\u2019 Lord.\u201d\u00a0 Do you feel worthy to be a Christian? Do you feel worthy to be a follower of Christ?\u00a0 In ourselves none of us are worthy to be in the presence of Jesus.\u00a0 But through the blood of Christ we are made worthy.\u00a0 It is by the righteousness of Christ being placed on our account that we have become worthy.\u00a0 It is by the indwelling and sealing of God\u2019s Holy Spirit we are made worthy.\u00a0 We are not acceptable until we have experienced salvation and have been made part of God\u2019s family.\u00a0 So in one sense we should all kneel and proclaim our sinfulness before Christ, but in Christ we should all boldly come before the throne of God to find help and mercy.\u00a0 I am so thankful for GRACE!<\/p>\n
When Christ called them they forsook all.\u00a0 They were willing to give up their career for Christ.\u00a0 They were willing to leave their families for Christ.\u00a0 They were willing to go out into the unknown, knowing only Jesus was there to guide them.\u00a0 Jesus calls all of us into His service with the willingness to forsake everything for the gospel.\u00a0 Does Jesus own it all?\u00a0 The awesome part of forsaking everything and follow Christ is that everything about your life becomes His problem.\u00a0 Jesus has to house you, feed, and provide for you.\u00a0 So we get to wake up every day not knowing all the details but knowing Christ and Him only.<\/p>\n
God gave them a new career of fishing for men.\u00a0 They had a new career of reaching people with the gospel.\u00a0\u00a0 They became the pillars of the New Testament Church.\u00a0 They turned their world upside down by simply following Jesus.\u00a0 Why not just turn it all over to Christ and let Him handle your day.<\/p>\n
