{"id":1357,"date":"2014-04-11T10:14:59","date_gmt":"2014-04-11T15:14:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/wp\/?p=1357"},"modified":"2014-04-11T10:14:59","modified_gmt":"2014-04-11T15:14:59","slug":"rest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/?p=1357","title":{"rendered":"Rest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Matthew Chapter 12<\/p>\n<p>There is much brought up about the Sabbath day which God created for rest.\u00a0 Throughout the Old Testament this day was kept\u00a0on Saturday\u00a0which is the seventh day of the week.\u00a0 The Jewish leaders had to keep setting up laws to regulate work on this day.\u00a0 The early church changed the day to\u00a0Sunday\u00a0to celebrate the resurrection of Christ.\u00a0 We no longer live in a time where the \u201cSabbath\u201d is kept holy and for rest.\u00a0 Society now schedules everything they can\u00a0on Sunday\u00a0which was forbidden by the pressure from society, and the church.\u00a0 Now we just esteem every day the same\u00a0and yes, there is a verse for that.<\/p>\n<p>However, we have become avoiders of what is holy and abusers of what is sacred.\u00a0 The sacred and holy is not only our corporate worship and functioning as the body of Christ, but you individually \u2013 Christian bodies are the Temple of God.\u00a0 When God determines during the creation process to take the Sabbath off for rest and to celebrate what has been accomplished, why would we, as created beings, think we can go and go and go without the commanded rest and worship?<br \/>\nFor your spiritual and physical health I implore you to make\u00a0Sunday\u00a0a protected day of rest and worship.\u00a0 Your family, your doctor, and your creator will thank you.\u00a0 Remember in the text Jesus did not break the Sabbath, but the rules that the Pharisees built around the Sabbath.\u00a0 Life is too complicated and filled with non-eternal matter that should be pushed out so life can be enjoyed in Christ.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"excerpt","protected":false},"author":1167,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"episode_type":"","audio_file":"","cover_image":"","cover_image_id":"","duration":"","filesize":"","date_recorded":"","explicit":"","block":"","itunes_episode_number":"","itunes_title":"","itunes_season_number":"","itunes_episode_type":"","filesize_raw":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1357","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-bible-reading"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_likes_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1357","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1167"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1357"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1357\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1358,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1357\/revisions\/1358"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1357"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1357"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1357"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
