{"id":2345,"date":"2014-07-18T12:24:22","date_gmt":"2014-07-18T17:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/wp\/?p=2345"},"modified":"2014-07-18T12:24:22","modified_gmt":"2014-07-18T17:24:22","slug":"titus-chapter-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/?p=2345","title":{"rendered":"Titus Chapter 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Titus was left here in Crete to \u201cset in order\u201d; God is a God of order and desires to have structure in our Christian life and in the life of the local Church.\u00a0 Each church should have an elder or pastor who is called to be the spiritual leader in the church.\u00a0 They are to watch over what is taught and to correct anyone that teaches anything against God\u2019s word.\u00a0 They are to call those in sin back to living for the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 16 said that there are people who profess Christianity but their works tell on them.\u00a0 I just heard James the half-brother of Jesus who wrote the book of James say, \u201cAMEN!\u201d\u00a0 Of course James said \u201cfaith without works is dead.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 To profess Christ and live totally against Him was not accepted in Paul\u2019s day and should not be accepted in ours.\u00a0 To say \u201cyou don\u2019t know my heart\u201d, is a copout as is the statement \u201cwe all sin\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 These are statements that make us feel as if we have a license to be disobedient.\u00a0 Our goal as Christians should be to live godly in Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Today will be a great day to police ourselves to see if our walk matches our talk.\u00a0 What would you say if an elder from the church called out your belief or sin?\u00a0 Would you be willing to take it as a correction from the Lord?\u00a0 When the correction is not received God does some chastising of His own on our life.\u00a0 I want to be sensitive to His Spirit, His Word and His Saints so that I walk as I talk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"excerpt","protected":false},"author":1167,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"episode_type":"","audio_file":"","cover_image":"","cover_image_id":"","duration":"","filesize":"","date_recorded":"","explicit":"","block":"","itunes_episode_number":"","itunes_title":"","itunes_season_number":"","itunes_episode_type":"","filesize_raw":"","_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[23],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2345","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-bible-reading"],"jetpack_featured_media_url":"","jetpack_sharing_enabled":true,"jetpack_likes_enabled":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2345","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1167"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=2345"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2345\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2346,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2345\/revisions\/2346"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=2345"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=2345"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=2345"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
