\"Genesis\"<\/a>We are reading chapter 30 of Genesis today.\u00a0 There is a battle between these two sisters, Leah and Rachel, to see who will have the line of the covenant.\u00a0 In order for Rachel to even be in the running she had to have a baby boy.\u00a0 Rachel even bartered for the Mandrakes that Leah\u2019s son found.\u00a0 They are also referred to as love apples.\u00a0 They are about the size of a nutmeg, with a strong and agreeable odor, and were used by the ancients, as they still are by the Arabs, as a means of promoting child-bearing.\u00a0 Rachel does not yet have Joseph which will preserve the covenant line.<\/p>\n
