{"id":6579,"date":"2020-07-06T05:00:08","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T10:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/wp\/?p=6579"},"modified":"2020-07-06T13:26:17","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T18:26:17","slug":"1-corinthians-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mbcnewhaven.com\/?p=6579","title":{"rendered":"1 Corinthians 16"},"content":{"rendered":"1<\/sup> <\/strong>Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. 2 <\/sup><\/strong>On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. 3 <\/sup><\/strong>And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.4 <\/sup><\/strong>If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.\n\n\n\nPaul wanted a representative from the Christian in Corinth to help deliver, he wanted to be above approach. We should strive to all be above reproach.  <\/strong>\n\n\n\n5 <\/sup><\/strong>I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, 6 <\/sup><\/strong>and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7 <\/sup><\/strong>For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits.8 <\/sup><\/strong>But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9 <\/sup><\/strong>for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.\n\n\n\n10 <\/sup><\/strong>When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. 11 <\/sup><\/strong>So let no one despise him. Help him on his way in peace, that he may return to me, for I am expecting him with the brothers.\n\n\n\nPaul struggled like we will and might already have with people respecting them and the ministry they are trying to do. <\/strong>\n\n\n\n12 <\/sup><\/strong>Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to visit you with the other brothers, but it was not at all his will to come now. He will come when he has opportunity.\n\n\n\n13 <\/sup><\/strong>Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 <\/sup><\/strong>Let all that you do be done in love.\n\n\n\n15 <\/sup><\/strong>Now I urge you, brothers\u2014you know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the service of the saints\u2014 16 <\/sup><\/strong>be subject to such as these, and to every fellow worker and laborer. 17 <\/sup><\/strong>I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because they have made up for your absence, 18 <\/sup><\/strong>for they refreshed my spirit as well as yours. Give recognition to such people.\n\n\n\nThese people came in and gave Paul the extra fresh air he needed after a tough time in ministry. <\/strong>\n\n\n\n19 <\/sup><\/strong>The churches of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca, together with the church in their house, send you hearty greetings in the Lord. 20 <\/sup><\/strong>All the brothers send you greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.\n\n\n\n21 <\/sup><\/strong>I, Paul, write this greeting with my own hand. 22 <\/sup><\/strong>If anyone has no love for the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come! 23 <\/sup><\/strong>The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you. 24 <\/sup><\/strong>My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.\n\n\n\nHow can you tell if somebody does or does not love the Lord? Look at the frites of their life.
