3\u00a0<\/strong>But understand this, that\u00a0in the last days there will come times of difficulty.\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup>For people will be\u00a0lovers of self,\u00a0lovers of money,\u00a0proud,\u00a0arrogant, abusive,\u00a0disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup>heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal,\u00a0not loving good,4\u00a0<\/sup>treacherous, reckless,\u00a0swollen with conceit,\u00a0lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,\u00a05\u00a0<\/sup>having the appearance of godliness, but\u00a0denying its power.\u00a0Avoid such people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is certainly characteristic of our present age, when men and women are encouraged to love themselves. People are told to love themselves unconditionally and that such self-love is the foundation for a healthy human personality. We need to understand this is a good thing to care about ourselves but we can’t get caught up in the all about me stage of life. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a06\u00a0<\/sup>For among them are\u00a0those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions,\u00a07\u00a0<\/sup>always learning and never able to\u00a0arrive at a knowledge of the truth.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul knew that there are dangers in the world in his day an<\/strong>d would be increasingly present in the last days before the return of Jesus. We need to be concerned like Paul and not allow these things in our home. \u00a0It is one thing to have such evil present in the world; it is another thing to allow it into your home. We must keep our home away from worldly things and only Christ in our family.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

8\u00a0<\/sup>Just as\u00a0Jannes and Jambres\u00a0opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth,\u00a0men corrupted in mind and\u00a0disqualified regarding the faith.9\u00a0<\/sup>But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all,\u00a0as was that of those two men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

10\u00a0<\/sup>You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness,\u00a011\u00a0<\/sup>my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me\u00a0at Antioch,\u00a0at Iconium, and\u00a0at Lystra\u2014which persecutions I endured; yet\u00a0from them all\u00a0the Lord rescued me.\u00a012\u00a0<\/sup>Indeed, all who desire to\u00a0live a godly life in Christ Jesus\u00a0will be persecuted,\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timothy caught Paul\u2019s\u00a0manner of life: There was just a certain way that Paul lived, and Timothy was around him enough to learn it and follow it. We all have people that look up to us and we need to always show Christ so they know what it looks like to live for Jesus. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

13\u00a0<\/sup>while\u00a0evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and\u00a0being deceived.\u00a014\u00a0<\/sup>But as for you,\u00a0continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom[a<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0you learned it\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup>and how\u00a0from childhood you have been acquainted with\u00a0the sacred writings,\u00a0which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.\u00a016\u00a0<\/sup>All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup>that\u00a0the man of God[b<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0may be complete,\u00a0equipped\u00a0for every good work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
