2 <\/strong>But as for you, teach what accords with sound[a<\/a>]<\/sup> doctrine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul simply wants Titus to fulfill the command of Jesus in <\/strong>Matthew 28:19-20<\/a><\/strong>: <\/strong>Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2 <\/sup><\/strong>Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 <\/sup><\/strong>Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 <\/sup><\/strong>and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 <\/sup><\/strong>to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Paul\u2019s instruction, Titus was not to make it his ministry to teach the <\/strong>young women<\/strong> directly. Instead, he was to equip and encourage the <\/strong>older women<\/em><\/strong> to teach <\/strong>the young women<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 6 <\/sup><\/strong>Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. 7 <\/sup><\/strong>Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 <\/sup><\/strong>and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have to be more then teachers just like Titus we have to be leaders. We need to be following after Christ so that we can pour into others. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9 <\/sup><\/strong>Bondservants[b<\/a>]<\/sup> are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 <\/sup><\/strong>not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11 <\/sup><\/strong>For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 <\/sup><\/strong>training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 <\/sup><\/strong>waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus you see that grace has its own disciples. Are you a disciple of the grace of God? Did you ever come and submit yourself to it?\u201d (Spurgeon)<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

14 <\/sup><\/strong>who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
