3\u00a0<\/strong>And I saw a beast rising out of the sea,\u00a0with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and\u00a0blasphemous names on its heads.\u00a02\u00a0<\/sup>And the beast that I saw was\u00a0like a leopard; its feet were like\u00a0a bear’s, and its mouth was like\u00a0a lion’s mouth. And to it\u00a0the dragon gave his power and\u00a0his throne and great authority.\u00a03\u00a0<\/sup>One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and\u00a0the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast.\u00a04\u00a0<\/sup>And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying,\u00a0\u201cWho is like the beast, and who can fight against it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can begin by understanding what the title\u00a0Antichrist<\/em>\u00a0means. The prefix\u00a0anti<\/em>\u00a0may mean \u201cthe opposite of\u201d or \u201cinstead of.\u201d The Antichrist is the \u201copposite Jesus\u201d; he is the \u201cinstead of\u201d Jesus. Most people have focused on the idea of the \u201copposite Jesus.\u201d This has made them think that the Antichrist will appear as a supremely evil person, that as much as Jesus went around doing good, he will go around doing bad.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5\u00a0<\/sup>And the beast was given\u00a0a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for\u00a0forty-two months.\u00a06\u00a0<\/sup>It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling,\u00a0that is, those who dwell in heaven.\u00a07\u00a0<\/sup>Also it was allowed\u00a0to make war on the saints and to conquer them.\u00a0And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation,\u00a08\u00a0<\/sup>and all\u00a0who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in\u00a0the book of life of\u00a0the Lamb\u00a0who was slain.\u00a09\u00a0<\/sup>If anyone has an ear, let him hear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An image is set up of the beast, and the whole world is commanded to worship it. This makes far more sense if the\u00a0beast\u00a0is a man more than an empire or a government. Through history, men have often bowed down to an image of a political ruler.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10 <\/sup>If anyone is to be taken captive,
    to captivity he goes;
if anyone is to be slain with the sword,
    with the sword must he be slain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Second Beast<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

11\u00a0<\/sup>Then\u00a0I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon.\u00a012\u00a0<\/sup>It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence,\u00a0and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast,\u00a0whose mortal wound was healed.\u00a013\u00a0<\/sup>It performs great signs, even\u00a0making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people,\u00a014\u00a0<\/sup>and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of\u00a0the beast\u00a0it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast\u00a0that was wounded by the sword and yet lived.\u00a015\u00a0<\/sup>And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not\u00a0worship the image of the beast\u00a0to be slain.\u00a016\u00a0<\/sup>Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave,\u00a0to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,\u00a017\u00a0<\/sup>so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is,\u00a0the name of the beast or\u00a0the number of its name.\u00a018\u00a0<\/sup>This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number\u00a0of a man, and his number is 666.\\<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We live in World that tries to make us worship other things then the name of Jesus. This is nothing different, we must understand that we live a life for Jesus and nothing else.
