Wow we are in our third month of reading together and I have enjoyed the reading and your feedback.  When we get done reading Acts we will spend a couple of days in the book of Jude.  After we read Jude where do you think we should go?

God through the Spirit should direct our day.  I really believe in the Holy Spirit of God that has filled every believer and should direct our steps daily.  Joyce and I are in New Haven because of the direction of God’s Spirit.  I believe the growth in our church is because of how God has directed people to Memorial and He has opened doors for ministry.  The Spirit needs to be discerned and sometimes we just live for God knowing the Spirit is at work.   I think the hardest thing for Christians is to know when God is closing a door to open up another.  Paul looked in other directions before they were lead to Macedonia.  Pray for the Spirit to lead your day but serve where you are, looking for doors of opportunity to be opened to share God’s grace and love.  Do you notice that after someone’s heart is opened to the gospel they get baptized?  Does the Spirit lead one to get baptized or is it a commanded first step.  The answer is yes.  The Spirit will always lead us to do what God has already said we should do.   We should be led by the Spirit, by the Scriptures and by the Saints of God’s Church.

God wants to help everyone do a jail break.  A jail break from a normal life to one that is a spirit filled life.  Rejoice in the hard times knowing God is at work.  Don’t leave when you have opportunity to run from your captors, share Christ in the difficulties of life.  Standing up for God does not mean we do not stand up for our legal rights.  It does mean we take this opportunity to praise and serve Christ.

Today accept where you are as the opportunity God has given you to share His love and grace.  As His Children the Spirit is working in us and around us for His glory and the advancement of His kingdom.  This is our opportunity and you are where God can be used and glorified.
