Paul moves in with Aquila and Priscilla two faithful Christians who were tent makers like Paul.  Paul was supported by the churches but also had a trade to make a living.  Paul did not want to burden the people he was endeavoring to reach with the gospel.  Working is never discouraged in scripture, and we should always look at having a trade or being able to work as a blessing.

Paul seemed emboldened by the visit of Silas and Timothy.  Many of our mission trips are to reach the lost but also to encourage the missionaries on the field.  Paul was also encouraged by Christ speaking about his safety.  Always remember that nothing can happen to us until God permits it.  Paul spent a year and a half teaching the truth about God.

Paul moves on in this missionary journey with the purpose of strengthening the disciples.  These people where already believers but needed to grow in the ways of God.  Aquila and Priscilla even came into contact with a group that believed accurately but only knew of the baptism of John.  They showed them the better way in Christ and people believed.   I am always challenged to grow more in Christ; the Bible is not like any other book.  You can read most books and obtain everything there is to know about that subject.  The Bible is inexhaustible; you can never reach its depths.  This is why our relationship with God is fascinating, we continually discover more about Him and ourselves.  God calls us into a relationship that will be full of love, full of adventure, sprinkled with the miraculous and it will never end because our relationship is eternal.

Focus your day on Jesus no matter your circumstance, maybe you need to live with a friend, run from your enemies, work long hours as a tentmaker, or even be misunderstood.  The journey with Christ is the only journey worth taking.

Let us keep walking with Christ through His Word.  I am enjoying the adventure we are taking together to reach New Haven, Franklin County, our State and the World with the love of Christ.
