There is a fascinating accusation of Paul where Tertullus speaks to what Paul supposedly believes. This has happened to me before when a group of people stood and stated what I believed, which was nothing that I believed. When I was asked, I explained I did not believe that way and gave witnesses to how I acted in contradiction to how they accused me of believing. However, the group answered, so and so said you believe this way. People will believe what they want to believe. With this in mind live as Paul did in verse 16 “to have always a conscience void of offence towards God, and toward men.” We should live right before God and before men, and when we fail, seek forgiveness and make restitution for the wrong that has been done. I hope you noticed I said when we fail, because we will, so don’t be surprised when it happens. No one is perfect but we should live with a conscience that is clear before God, He knows our secret sins, and before man our visible sins. Paul did not get miraculously set free and after two years Paul was still bound even though there was not a case against him. I wonder if Paul was looking for a Peter moment. Or do you think Paul was okay with creating his own moments with God?
Thanks for putting up with a Pastor that has failures and struggles. Together we take each day as another day of sanctification as we allow God to make us more like Him. Today is a new day, allow God to create a God moment in your life.
