Matthew Chapter 7
We start out our reading today with the most misquoted verse in our culture today. We are not told not to judge at all but to judge fairly and equally. The story is of a person who has a beam in his eye and he complains and strives to help remove a small speck from someone else’s eye. Right after talking about judging, verse 6 tells us not to cast pearl before swine. There are some people who will not accept truth. We continue to love defiant people. However, there is a time to move on and leave someone to their own folly.
Ask, seek and knock and God will answer and bless us. The illustration compares our earthly father’s kindness to how our heavenly Father treats us. We should ask God for His will but also for the desires of our heart. I want God to be glorified by my life, but I would also like His blessings on my life. The key in scripture seems to be our efforts to follow Him.
Treat others as you want to be treated!
Make sure your destination for eternity is heaven. We have only one way and it is not the popular way, but the road less traveled. There are false prophets to deceive and mask the destructive road. The narrow way produces fruit that brings honor and glory to God. Make sure the road produces fruit that is rooted and grounded in God’s Word which is truth. The false road has good intentions but at the conclusion of life’s journey you will hear Christ say depart from me. The road you choose has an eternal impact.
Lastly, how are you building your life? Is it on the teachings of Christ or is it on the sands of foolishness. Everything taught in God’s Word are building blocks to help us to have a successful life for His glory.
This is the end of Christ’ sermon and now we must decide if we are going to follow Him. Be assured to follow Christ is to be obedient to His Words.
If you need help building a life on God’s Word let us know we can help. We do not have all the answers but I have a book that holds all the answers.
