Matthew 21:1-17.
Jesus once again fulfills prophesy as He enters Jerusalem. The crowd yells ‘Hosanna’, which means save us now. This triumphal entrance into the city will soon be drowned out by crucify him! What will make this change? The change from worship to worry comes from a misunderstanding of scripture and a false view of God. “Most people run from a god that doesn’t exist. For one reason or another, their perception of God doesn’t match up with reality. They are rejecting a god they created rather than the true God who created them.” Kyle Idleman in his book “AHA: The God Moment That Changes Everything”; We need to make sure our view of God is one built on the truth, all of the truths, found in God’s Word.
Well right after Jesus shows up in the Temple, He cleanses the Temple. I am always amazed how many believe if God showed up in our services with full power it will be a victory service of supernatural praise. I am afraid when God shows up there will first be a cleansing as we weep before Him because of our disobedience and sinful behaviors. We may just get mad at God as the Temple keepers did.
This is enough for us to consider on this Friday, we will finish the chapter over the weekend. I desire a full revival and I pray for God to do a work that brings us to obedience for revival to take place. There are too many praying for a good outcome as they live in disobedience and rebellion towards God’s Word. We need a cleansing and a true view of the holiness of God. Your situation cannot get better as you live away from God, let Him cleanse you today. Turn it all over to Him.
