Verse 3 calls us to commit our works unto the Lord. I am told the word means to roll them on the Lord. In the USA we travel over bridges every single day without a thought to the construction of these bridges. There is an assumption that a qualified engineer did his work and those instructions where carried out by qualified workers that used quality parts. In life we travel over bridges from one action to the next without examining the direction of those life’s bridges. All that we do should be rolled unto Jesus before passing over. All of our decisions should pass over the words and directive of Christ and if they are found acceptable then we proceed. This is the only way to have established thoughts of truth that will produce a blessed life. Make sure your life’s bridges are built by the only qualified engineer of life who is Jesus. Make sure your life’s bridges follow the instructions set forth in His Word.
Verse 7 explains that this way pleases the Lord and will even make our enemies to have peace with us. They may disagree but they have nothing to say against you personally.
Verse 17 tells us that the bridges of life will always detour evil. Bridges into evil are not bridges at all but pits of death and destruction.
Verse 25 explains that there are false ways that seem right. That the first few steps seem okay and fun. There are consequences to detouring from the ways of God and it is full of death and destruction.
Great news, U-turns are always permitted on faulty bridges. Test your structure to see if the path of life passes the inspection of Christ and His Word.
