What’s happening in the first part of chapter 6? I believe demonic angels, either through possession of men or taking on the form of man, had sexual relations with women and produced giants. (See Jude 6 & 7) In the span of about 1656 years, about the time Methuselah died, the world was too corrupt to save. God destroyed the world with a flood, saving only Noah and his family. In Matthew 24:37 God tells us this world will be as wicket as it was in the day of Noah when the end comes. Satan has blinded the American culture to who God really is. Our culture is about self and self-happiness. Using this culture as our guide, the end is near. What’s our hope? Build yourself a relational ark with our Lord and Savior. Retreat from this wickedness with your family inside the ark of God’s Word and God’s Spirit. Connect not to the world but to the church that God loves and died for. Yes, we will reach out to this world and invite them in until God closes the door at His second coming. Yes, we will be in the world but always remember we are not part of this world.
God calls us to be a light in this world but not to be part of this world.
