In this chapter we get to see praise, a predicament, and the power of God. The Children of Israel break into a song of praise for how God has freed them from Egypt. They called God a God of war. God had fought the battle for them and won the victory. After the praise they found themselves in a predicament of needing water. Water is a needed necessity for life. The only water nearby was very bitter. God tells them to throw a piece of wood into the water to make it drinkable. It worked! To this day they have not found a wood that can cause water to go from bitter to sweet. I am pretty sure the recipe started with: pause and listen to God, follow God, and receive a miracle of God.
God does not want to be an emergency kit. God wants to be the director of our life. As we journey with God, obediently following, God works in every situation for His glory. God will fight our battles, part our difficult situations, bring us to praise and take care of our needs. Trust Christ with your salvation, and live with Him in life.
