The parable of the soils in Matthew, chapter 13 should cause us to pray for spiritual understanding. The most frustrating things in church life are people without spiritual sight who strive to operate the church as a club or charity without consideration to God’s Word nor the leading of God’s Spirit. We are to seek God and not allow our hearts to grow dull. Remember there is the wicked one striving to eliminate the growth of God’s Word, which is the seed.
Pray for understanding so the seed does not fall on the wayside.
Allow God’s Word to take root in your life, by removing the stones. Stones are anything in our life that hinders growth.
Watch out for thorns! Thorns are cares or anything in this world that causes pain when we serve Christ. Having to choose between the things of God and the cares of the world become painful when our priorities are not right. Many people would love to do the things of God but there are thorns that cause them pain every time they make the right moves.
Cultivate good ground by removing trouble mentioned above. When we understand and live out God’s Word we will naturally produce fruit. When you plant a seed it will naturally grow if the conditions are right. Prepare your heart and life and allow the seeds of God’s Word to produce beautiful fruit for His glory.
