Today we are reading chapter 14, verses 1-27 together. This portion of scripture shows the persuasion of money. One lady gave something very costly as a sacrifice for Jesus and everyone could not understand using this expensive oil in this way. Money is something we desire to hold on to and some will even say, “God does not want you to give it all”. What if God wants you to sell the land, the house or the car and use it for the spreading of the gospel of Christ? Would you be willing to take the pressure from family and friends trying to stop you from being obedient? The other person we remember is Judas because he sold out Jesus for a little money. Money is the barometer of our trust and faith in God. I say that because money is connected to everything, and Jesus talked more about money than anything else.
