Today we are reading chapter 13 of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus does not want His disciples to be deceived. I think this scares me more than anything else theologically, I do not want to be deceived. I do not want to be taught false truth and live and believe a false life for Christ. This is why we must compare all truth with scripture, God’s truth. We must also study scripture to make sure nothing is believed out of its proper contexts. When we move to a position of “God could do” we make a small step away from the truths of God’s Word and what He said He would do. Ask yourself do I believe and live out God’s Word? The statements “I don’t believe that” or “what I believe” could be marks of deception. Our belief system must be connected and grounded in God’s Holy Word. Half-truths are Satan’s greatest tool.
