ColossiansIn Verse 8 we see this warning, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ”.  In Verse 18 we are told to “Let no man beguile you.”

We have victory in Christ and the only way we wonder and doubt this victory is when we allow the enemy to cast doubts on God’s Word.  The word spoil happens after war when the enemy comes after immobilizing the enemy.  God and His word is a treasure, our salvations and redemption is of great wealth, and our walk with God by His Spirit is invaluable.  The enemy desires to take these things. Don’t allow anyone to steal this joy, peace and hope of eternal life.  Satan wants to bring you down so that he can beguile you, to lure you away from the things of God for the short pleasures of this world.  The world blinds us by the pleasures so we will not see the death, defeat and destruction this will bring.  The works of God will bring life, peace, joy, meaning of life, purpose in action, along with the power of God.

We must remember there is a battle and the enemy has a goal.  We forget the battle and invite their propaganda into our homes and lives.  Before we can recognize the enemy they have stolen from us.  Guard your life by God’s Word.  Guard your life by growing strong in God’s Word.  Guard your life by putting the Word of God into action daily.
