We do see in our human state we are lower than the angels but as heirs we are not.
The power of death was destroyed by the death of Christ. Satan who had the power of death, or caused fear to come upon people by the prospect of death, lost his power. The fear of dying was removed by Jesus Christ! Today as an heir of Christ we should have no uncertainty concerning death. When we die we will be greeted and taken into heaven. We will spend eternity with our Lord. To be absent from this body is to be present with our Lord. Death has an uncertain time but it will come. The older you get the more you realize the appointed time is running out of dates on your calendar. When you’re young, death is for later. In reality we do not know when, but it is coming. However, as a child of God we should not worry. Those of us who are born again have our names written down in God’s reservation book called the book of life. We have been promised heaven by God who cannot lie. We have been sealed by the Spirit of God to keep us until the day of redemption. Yes death is coming but death has lost its sting and as it could not contain our Savior, death cannot hold you and me, for we are redeemed.
I do realize there is a real loss in death. You do sorrow when one dies for you miss them and would love to have them back with you. Christians do sorrow, but we sorrow with hope. When we are diagnosed with death there is sadness concerning our departure, but there is hope in knowing we sail on to our heavenly home. Funerals are never easy, Jesus wept at a funeral, and no it was not for the dead but for the sorrow among the living.
