Today we are reading chapter one of Hebrews. This is an awesome book that connects us with the Old Testament. The old covenant and the new covenant are not separate but a continuation and fulfilment of God’s plan. I love the way chapter one ends as it talks about us and angels. Have you ever heard someone say after someone died, “they have their wings, they are now one of God’s angels”? Humans do not become angels because we are higher than the angels. This verse shows us that the heirs of salvation, that is everyone who has become born again, are ministered to by angels. How awesome to know that there are armies of angels that minister to the redeemed. The Bible tells us that we entertain angels unaware. They can be guarding us, and working on our behalf as we drive to work. You do have angels watching over you! These angels are charged with the task of ministering to you. If only God would allow us to see with our spiritual eyes and not just with these physical eyes. We would see a host of angels camped around ready to do battle for us.
