Today we are reading chapter eight of Revelation.

revelationVerse 13 – “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth.”  It is hard to imagine this type of destruction occurring.  It is equally hard to imagine our loving God is the one pouring out this judgment.  We are encouraged to cheer and celebrate that a better day is coming, and it is, however, there has to be a cleansing first.  To create a crime free zone, criminals must be caught, punished, and hopefully rehabilitated.  Right now Jesus has come to seek and to save that which is lost.  You and I are sinners that Jesus came to seek.  He desires to capture us by His Spirit and His love which he demonstrated on the cross.  Jesus took our punishment and now Christ “rehabilitates us”; really God condemns the old and makes us new in Christ.  Don’t get so worldly minded that we think this earth is our home.  One day after the renovation work of God we will return with Christ and we will make it our home for His glory.  For now we are to warn the people of judgment and point them to their only hope found in Jesus Christ.
