LukeWe are reading Luke chapter eleven today.  Are these not the longest chapters in the book of Luke?  There is so much here you have to actually pause and read.  Allow your mind and the Spirit of Christ to bring you rest as God speaks to you through His Word.

Prayer is one of the most fascinating things anyone can consider.  Why pray?  God knows.  We pray because God tells us to pray and it is the best way to seek Him and praise Him.  Jesus gives an outline on prayer after the disciples ask for help with their prayers.  Read through the prayer and see the different parts that should fill our prayer.  Prayer is for believers who know that God is their heavenly Father.  We should worship God in prayer as well as surrender for God’s will to be done in our lives.  We should ask for our needs as well as forgiveness.  We should ask that God keep us from sin and temptation.  Prayer is a wonderful time of worship and conversation with the living creator.  After Jesus teaches on prayer He calls us to be persistent in prayer until we receive an answer.  As we pray, keep in mind that our earthly fathers give us good things, therefore how much better gifts will God give us?  The good thing Christ talks about is the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Spiritual gifts are so much better than the physical blessings.  Remember, while we pray, that God has the power over Satan.  Through prayer we can see great spiritual blessings in our lives.  Pray over all that is going on and ask that God will bless in and through His Spirit.  Prayer is a key to seeing revival and obtaining workers in the field.
