We are reading chapter 15 of Luke today.
In ministry we lose people. This is one of the most frustrating and hurtful things we suffer as ministers. Sometimes you see people drifting away by deciding not to participate in some services. They may drop out of Sunday School or other activities. They lose interest in serving in different areas of the church because something else has their attention. Before you know it they are no longer with the 99 other sheep and you desire for them to come back. They have such value as the lost coin does and you wish they could see how the body suffers without their gift. They may also go as far as the prodigal son who reaps the reward of living in sin away from the Father. We all need to try to bring people back, (Galatians 6:1). We all need to know how God celebrates His sheep coming back; after all we were His from before the foundation of the world. Are you close to the fence? Are you drifting away from the place God has you to serve Him and to bring Him glory? Every path away starts with a simple step followed by a dismissal of your place in the body of Christ.
You’re of value to God, to this Pastor and to the church family called Memorial Baptist.
