Rape is always wrong. The Hivites did not have much of a moral issue with it, nor did they show any remorse when they came to Jacob. Shechem wanted her, and that is all that mattered to them. My youth director years ago would always remind us that at 2amnothing good happens. It was his way of saying if you’re in and around the bar at closing, bad things could happen. Dinah was hanging around the wrong people and the wrong places, which does not justify what happened, but it sure increased the probability of something wrong taking place.
Dinah’s brothers where angry, and desired to take revenge for their sister. So they made a deceitful agreement, and had the men be circumcised. On the third day when the pain was the greatest they attacked, killing all the men and taking all the spoils. Nowhere does the scriptures condone this nor does God praise this attack. This is a recorded event in the history of Israel. Too many times people make doctrines and truths out of events that may or may not be written for that purpose. It happened. On the other side it was pretty mean, yet effective.
Be aware of where you are living. Stay closer to the things of God than to the temptations of the world. S
