Within the last two chapters we see Joseph striving to test the character of his brothers. They seem to have changed over the past 13 plus years for the better. Judah was even willing to take the place of the youngest brother to spare his father the pain. Character is unknown until tested. In scripture we are told that we experience trials for testing, and growing. How have you grown in the past few years in Christian character? Are there things you do because you desire to serve and honor God? Are there things you do not do to serve and honor God? I am not talking about being a moral person, which is good. I am talking about being a godly person. Taking time daily to read God’s word which builds character that fashions our mind. Acting on God’s word builds true character that is seen, and it will bring glory to God. Our character is tested when what we know God wants us to do is pulled by what we, or the world wants us to do. Be strong in the Lord.
