Today we start the book of Exodus. Remember the children of Israel were where they should have been, for now. God used the Egyptians to strengthen and protect Israel. God now uses the Egyptians to make Israel discontent because of the hard work, and the killing of their children. We all get a little complacent, and need God to move something into our lives from time to time to help us refocus. They knew God was going to move them back to the Promised Land. We know God desires to use us, but we get comfortable where we are, doing what we are doing. Are you listening for God’s direction in your life? Are you praying for God’s direction in your life? Are you living out God’s Word knowing it’s His direction for your life? We all need to be content in worldly things, but never complacent in godly things.
I have always found it interesting that throughout the Old Testament God uses the world to finance Israel. Sometimes God moves in the hearts of the most unlikely people to bless you and support His work.
