- This is day two of our journey through the Gospel of John. I am praying that God shows Himself to you in greater ways. The wedding in Cana of Galilee, had guest including Jesus and His disciples. I believe we need more celebration not less as people of God. God wants to join us in those gatherings and not to be excluded. Jesus, responding to marries request even helped by turning water into wine. And when Jesus does something He does it first class, it was the best wine. Imagine how Jesus changes us as He transforms us through salvation. He makes you and I better and when we are following Christ we find the best way.
- Just one note on wine and I am moving on. Wine in Jesus’ day was not the same as today. It would take over 20 glasses in some cases to equal the alcohol content in one of our drinks today. God does not want us under the influence of alcohol and it controls you quicker than you think. A couple of weeks ago NBC did a study on how one drink effects the way you drive.
- Verse 12 Jesus drives out the money changers. Make not my house a house of merchandise. Remember we are the house of God, the Spirit lives in you as a Christian. Jesus wants us to be fit temples for him to dwell in.
- In this chapter I see Jesus living life with His disciples, His family, His culture, and in His temple. The one thing I really noticed is God wants to make life better for everyone in every aspect of life. Even through the cleansing of the Temple and running out the money changers He made their lives better.
