I hope and pray you started, and/or continued a daily Bible reading time. If you only made a few days a week, don’t feel bad, just continue to develop time with God in His Word.
The book of Acts, which we will start reading later in February, talks about the church searching the scriptures daily to see if these things are true (Acts 17:11). They did not meet with philosophers or religious people, they met with God and His Word (Psalm 1). The best way to know what God wants is to search out what God has said. The process of reading God’s Word helps us to renew our minds and therefore we learn to discern the will of God (Romans 12:1,2). So many times we pray, we talk and talk, and talk some more to God, but we do not spend time sitting and listening to God through His Word.
As this month comes to a close I hope and pray you found reading God’s Word as a valuable development to your relationship with our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I also hope it has strengthened your faith (Romans 10:17) and has caused you to walk in the light of God (Psalm 119:105), and in the Spirit of God (Galatians 5:16-26).
I am looking forward to us reading, 1 John Chapter 1, this Saturday and Sunday. Take your time and feed spiritually on the things of God.
