Sin has a down side!  As the NHHS did that mock accident to keep youth from drinking, this chapter wants to warn us against being consumed with sex outside of marriage.  We live in an overly charged society where sex is pushed on us through commercials, the way society dresses, programs and even in our laws as same sex marriage becomes wrongly acceptable.

A well-known theologian, Dr. Keller, made this statement; “one of the biggest obstacles to repentance for revival in the church is the basic fact that almost all singles outside the church and a majority inside the church are sleeping with each other – in other words – good old-fashioned fornication.”

Marriages break up because of sex outside of marriage.  “Drink from your own cistern” is what proverbs tells us.  Be satisfied with the wife of your youth!  Remember it can happen to you so set up safe guards because the end will be destructive.

Isn’t Proverbs fun and straight to the heart of the matter?  Just one more thing, when it said the wife of your youth, just a thought…people wait too long to get married.  Paul tells us in Corinthians, it is better to marry than to burn.  I know society think it is better to wait and maybe you will be ready for marriage and not get divorced, but we are just trading sins and destroying the faith.
