Thursday is a great day to read God’s Word! To be honest any day that ends in Y is an awesome day to hear from the King of Kings. We are reading the second chapter of Ephesians today.
Verse 2 and 5 tell us that through Christ Jesus we are made alive. We are given true life through the work and power of the Spirit which transforms us at the point of salvation. We are no longer dead, but have been given life. What does it mean to be dead? We know it does not mean anything physical for we do breathe and bleed. Therefore it means something very important spiritually. Before Christ we do not have a spiritual new nature, and we cannot know and live out the ways of God. Oh yes, we can be good and do right things but we could not be Godly, and live in the directives of God’s Holy Spirit. Today as a child of God you should be awakened to the works and ways of God. You should grow in Scripture and in the discernment of His guiding Spirit. You should walk in His commandments and in His Spirit. You should listen to His Word both written and as He speaks into your life. You’re alive! Praise the Lord and boldly go before Christ’ throne because of this new life. When you were dead, you could not “go” before the throne, for you were dead and unable to gain access.
As a Christian we are alive with eternal life that started when we were born again and it will last for all eternity.
