We are directed to place no confidence in our flesh. Paul had so many earthly gifts as far as his education, sociological standing, and religiousness. Paul felt he had reasons to be proud. Regardless of all that Paul had and experienced, he relinquished them all for Christ. Paul considered everything in this world “dung” (human waste). Paul, never considered himself as one who had spiritually obtained perfection. Paul continued to press towards the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Sanctification is a process that we continue in throughout our days on earth. The Bible calls us to mark anyone who would draw us away from our total commitment to following Christ. Mark those who would divide us and move us away from the mind of Christ. Stay committed to the things of Christ, which means saying no to some earthly time consumers.
Life is about making someone a priority, and Jesus needs to be first in every way.
