GenesisAs a father, two thing stood out to me in this chapter.  First, Israel wanted to pass on the truths of God.  Our priority in life is to make sure our children know God.  We must live out the ways of God, and teach our children the things of God.  Our children can have many things in life that make us proud of them.  But anything outside of Jesus Christ will fade, and be burned up.  Secondly, I saw that Israel wanted to pray over them.  To pray a blessing on them, and their families.  Our family ended everyday praying together.  Joyce and I pray together before bed now.  Going to our heavenly Father on behalf of our family is our privilege and honor as fathers.  Remember fathers are called to be the spiritual leader in the home.  Pray with your family, and pray over your family.  Not in private, which is good, but praying with them will create a blessed experience for them and you.   Talk about doing thing biblically, and lead them to say no to events in life that are dishonoring to God, showing them it’s against God’s Word.
