God lifts Moses up in the eyes of Pharaoh, makes him as a god. God is demonstrating His power to the lost and those who are His people.
The phrase that gets our attention is “I will harden pharaoh’s heart”. Why do we have such a problem with this statement? In an earlier chapter pharaoh denied God, and refused to let the children of Israel go. God does not have to take us back. Once God turns us over (See Romans 1) we are done in. Please, remember you can always come back to God if you can come back to God. When God stops drawing we are doomed. This is why I stress salvation is not just a mentally light decision but a transformational work of the Spirit of God. This is why I stress that when we sin it is not a light thing. Ignoring God the Spirit and God’s Word has consequences we may not be allowed back from. But if you can come back, run don’t walk back. God is longsuffering but there is an end to His grace period.
Rejoice in your relationship. God has called you and saved you by His grace. Rejoice that you have found forgiveness, and are able to serve the true and living God.
