Exodus-2Change is a hard thing for us to accept.  Most of us enjoy knowing what’s going to happen.  God told them to change their calendar.  A new first month of the year was given to the children of Israel.  This is around our April.  Easter moves on our calendar because the Jews follow a lunar calendar.  Their day starts at sunset.  Also a month is added called “Adar I” before the month of Adar in the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 19th years of the cycle.  The calendar follows this 19 year cycle.  The holidays always fall on the same date of the Jewish calendar.  All holidays in Adar will not happen in “Adar 1” but in Adar 2 which is the original Adar.
God also set up the Passover.  Which was fulfilled in the Passover Lamb that takes away the sins of the world.  Jesus is our Passover!

When I read this celebration and see how God likes things done in an orderly fashion, I am saddened by our society’s dislike for “religion”.  I know religion without God or Christ is a troublesome world.  I know we are free in Christ, and we have the Spirit of Christ.  But if God is a God of order, would not doing religion in the Spirit, and because of our relationship be an awesome thing?  Paul wanted Timothy to set in order things within the Church.  Don’t think patterned living is a bad thing with Christ.

I do have to go to church on Sunday because I love the Lord.  I mean I don’t have too, but I feel like I want to in a way that I have too.  I hope you got that.
